According to Newsweek, Russia warned the West that U.S. defense initiatives, particularly the “Golden Dome” missile shield, risk triggering a devastating, non-hypothetical arms race in outer space. Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s UN envoy in Geneva, stated this militarization poses a threat to all of humanity.
