The message of Hiroshima and Nagasaki must not be forgotten

The anniversary has passed – but our work continues.

Last week, we marked 81 years since the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and remembered the tens of thousands of people whose lives were destroyed in an instant.

Throughout August, CND is continuing our Hiroshima and Nagasaki appeal to raise vital funds for our campaigning against nuclear weapons and for a safer, more peaceful world.

We must make sure that message is never forgotten.

Today, the threat of nuclear war remains, while Britain is now the third largest spender on nuclear weapons in the world and is expanding its nuclear arsenal. CND is continuing to challenge this dangerous direction – in Parliament, with trade unions and grassroots organisations, and through public campaigning and education.
