UPDATE: West bank attacks

Posted: 28th July 2026

This weekend Israeli armed forces and settlers rampaged across the West Bank in a campaign of terror, murderous violence and destruction.

Meanwhile, Britain’s newly appointed Prime Minister Andy Burnham hasn’t uttered a word, despite his earlier ‘apology’ on Labour’s failure to address Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people.

Burnham felt the pressure to apologise, but we need to pile on the pressure so he knows that he must take concrete action.Sign our petition for sanctions on IsraelPalestinians across the West Bank woke up this morning with the fear and knowledge that their lives are at grave risk.

There have been over 30 settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank since Friday last week, including two mosques set ablaze by settlers, as well as arson attacks on homes and agricultural fields.

Israeli soldiers, armed to the teeth, have been besieging entire villages and towns, preventing Palestinian emergency services from tending to the sick and wounded, and arresting tens of Palestinians in mass arrest raids.

Israeli politicians from across parties are gearing up for their upcoming elections by inciting against Palestinians and providing support, either direct or implicit, to the settlers and soldiers committing these horrific attacks.

Demand Burnham sanctions Israel NOW – sign our petition to help pile on the pressure for real action. The British government must take action: sign our petitionIsrael’s occupation and apartheid is not down to actions taken by a few rogue settlers.

They are systems set in place by decades of Israeli government policy going back to its foundational settler-colonial mission. And in turn, Israel’s violence against Palestinians has been propped up through decades of British political support and material assistance through an extensive trade in goods and services, including but not limited to the deadly weapons the Israeli military uses against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank today.

If Andy Burnham is serious about a change in direction, now is the time to show it. But we need to show him how serious we are in our demand for full and comprehensive sanctions on Israel, including a two-way arms embargo.Sign our petitionIf you’ve already signed the petition, thank you. Instead, can you spare 2 minutes to share it with your family and friends?
