This week Andy Burnham became Prime Minister. One of his first priorities in office must be to end Britain’s shameful complicity in Israel’s ongoing genocide and illegal occupation of Palestine. That needs pressure coming from people like you.
Add your name to PSC’s petition demanding that the new Prime Minister ends all arms trade with Israel and imposes sanctions now.
Andy Burnham has been forced to admit Labour “got it wrong” on Palestine.
That admission came because of the immense pressure from PSC supporters and the broader solidarity movement, who refused to be silenced and have continued to hold the government accountable for its disgraceful facilitation of genocide, illegal occupation and apartheid.
Reflecting our movement’s demands, Kim Johnson MP has written a letter to Andy Burnham signed by 80 parliamentarians from across the political spectrum, including former Cabinet ministers. The letter calls for Burnham’s apology to be matched by meaningful action, including comprehensive sanctions on Israel and a full ban on any trade that aids or assists Israel’s occupation.
Let’s keep building the pressure: sign the petition
Our Palestinian partners cannot afford a grace period while the new government decides what to do. The UN Commission of Inquiry has confirmed that Israel is still committing genocide against the Palestinian people. Every day Britain continues to arm and support Israel is another day of complicity in crimes against humanity.
The pressure is growing.
Last weekend, more than 100,000 people marched on Downing Street demanding sanctions on Israel.
Together we can ensure the new Prime Minister knows that the public expects immediate action – not more delay.
Please add your name today and tell Andy Burnham: Sanctions Now.
Thank you for standing with Palestine.
In solidarity,
James
