Nuclear startup companies are promising jobs. What their reactors are really intended for is to feed insatiable data centers. But most of them likely won’t materialize at all while the climate crisis worsens.

Companies with zero nuclear experience are promising small modular reactors for jobs, and political leaders are embracing them. Dead reactors are being revived, and billions in taxpayer money will be thrown once more at Westinghouse for 10 full size reactors, a company that is the poster child for nuclear failure.
