On Thursday 12th February, I’ll be taking part in the Workplace Day of Action for Palestine.
Many of our workplaces are connected, directly or indirectly, to companies, investments, and institutions that support Israel’s crimes of apartheid and its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. As workers in Britain, we have a responsibility to challenge that complicity. This day of action is a chance for us to do that together as workers, across all sectors, whether with big or small actions, we all have a part to play.

How you can get involved
1. Pledge to take part
Sign up here to register your support. By pledging, you’ll receive updates and practical resources to help you prepare.
2. Use the organising toolkit
After registering, you’ll get access to guidance and materials with ideas for actions you can organise in your own workplace.
3. Plan something with colleagues
Even small actions can make a difference:
Holding a lunch break staff and union meeting to discuss how to support Palestine
Starting conversations about how our workplace may be linked to unethical investments or contracts
Organising a petition or open letter
Taking a visible collective action such as wearing badges, putting up posters, or holding a lunch break walk out
Creating an ongoing working group to keep the campaign moving forward in the future
Why I’m taking part
I’m taking part because I believe it’s the responsibility of all of us to challenge genocide and apartheid. When we act collectively, we can challenge unethical practices and push our employers to make ethical choices. Trade unions have a proud history of international solidarity, and it’s up to us to continue that tradition and answer the call from Palestinians to stand with them.
Help spread the word
You can also help by spreading the word about the day of action. Please watch and share the Workplace Day of Action video on Instagram, X, Facebook, and in WhatsApp groups. The more people who see it, the stronger this day of action will be.
I hope you’ll consider standing with me on the 12th February.

PS. As the government tries to further undermine our democratic rights and ahead of the trials of Ben Jamal and Chris Nineham next month for peacefully protesting against genocide, join the Palestine coalition on 12 February at SOAS to hear how we can defend the right to protest.
