We cannot let illegal land and oil grabs become the new normal

Posted: 24th January 2026

We’re less than a month into 2026 and Trump has already invaded Venezuela and threatened the same to Greenland. [1, 2] The stated reasons? Drug charges, national security and a snub for a Nobel peace prize. [3, 4, 5].

But you and I both know Trump also wants to get his hands on oil. Venezuela has the biggest crude oil reserves in the world and Greenland is rich in natural resources.

I’m sure you agree that the last thing the world needs is more wars for oil. Tens of thousands of people have already taken a stand against Trump’s oil wars, will you join them?

Yes, I’ll add my name
It takes just 2 minutes to help put a stop to wars for oil

We cannot let illegal land and oil grabs become the new normal. Trump’s extractive foreign policy and colonialist mentality is deeply unpopular across the world. This is our chance to build momentum against it.

Together, we can end destructive fossil fuels and build a safe, peaceful future powered by clean and secure renewable energy.

Thank you for everything you do,
