Eligibility
Serving police officers and police officers who have recently left policing (within 36 months) are invited to apply.
Applicants should be able to evidence a credible and relevant policing record.
Applicants must be a sole British National and British Passport holder and willing to undergo security vetting clearance to Security Clearance (DV) level with enhanced security checks. Applicants will also be subject to Police Vetting checks.
Applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and the Job-Related Fitness Standard (Physical Employment Standard) prior to employment.
Applicants must hold a UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 live penalty points.

Senior Officers from our Special Escort Group will be hosting an online Information Session at 6pm – 7pm on Thursday 22 January 2026 for those interested in applying for this process.

Assessment Day & Interview
An assessment day for those who pass the sift will be held at MDP HQ, RAF Wyton, Cambridgeshire on dates to be confirmed. This will include an MDP Force Suitability Interview and fitness test.
Officers who are successful at the assessment day will then be invited to attend an SEG specific suitability interview remotely via TEAMS.
Medicals for successful candidates will take place at locations and dates to be confirmed.
Appointment
Successful candidates will be expected to take up appointment on the first available course once ready to be employed.
