I’m writing with an urgent update on the situation of two imprisoned activists associated with Palestine Action. Heba Muraisi is on day 67 of her hunger strike, and Kamran Ahmed is on day 60. They are protesting over the repressive and inhumane conditions of their detention, and Britain’s complicity in Israel’s war crimes against the Palestinian people. Their health has been deteriorating rapidly and they are now at grave risk of death. Every hour their situation grows more severe.
Despite public outcry, the government has as yet refused to meet with the families or legal representatives of the prisoners. John McDonnell MP has tabled an Early Day Motion in Parliament demanding that the government urgently meet with their representatives. Join us in writing to your MP to call on them to sign EDM 2573 in urgent support of the hunger strikers.
Write to your MP: Sign EDM 2573Heba, Kamran and the other activists who have been on hunger strike are facing trial for allegedly taking action to prevent arms manufacturers from shipping weapons to Israel, which has been conducting a genocide against the Palestinian people, on top of its ongoing illegal occupation and apartheid. It is those responsible for the deaths of over 70,000 Palestinians, and the British politicians and companies arming Israel, who should be brought to justice. Instead, Starmer’s government has chosen to target those who dare to protest against genocide.
One day, history will condemn all those who enabled this horrific genocide, as well as those responsible for repressing those who dissent. Please email your MP and ask them to take a stand on the side of justice.
