You may have seen this already. It is an excellent presentation on ground based interceptor problems.
We tend to get ourselves wrapped up in the technical aspects of the fantastic developments in radar and sensor technology. We then extrapolate that into a system that will do nearly miraculous things. Although the [Netflix] movie does an excellent job of provoking thought it is in fact, as presented here by Dr. Postel, is in error in that the movie presents a 61% chance of intercept when the actual chance is much closer to 0%.
Something that wasn’t mentioned in this presentation or the movie is the use of multiple warheads which further reduces the chance of successful interception.
