Stop the War Coalition

The demonstration is going to be massive

Activists from across the country are reporting more leafletting, more coaches booked and filled, and a big surge in interest over the last few days.

There are already 4 coaches filled from Bournemouth, at least 8 from Birmingham with campaigners raising money to book more. There are 8 coaches filled so far from Bath, Bristol and Weston Super Mare.

Susan from Bristol Stop the War says, “this is easily our biggest turnout, it looks like we will have twice as many people from the area travelling to London than we did even on the 800,000 strong demo on 11 Nov 2023.”

Tony from Newcastle reports their first coach is full with lots booking for the first time, plus many are making their own way, including lots who were on the recent anti-fascist march in London.

A group is sailing up the river Thames from Southend, hoping to make it to Westminster before the demo leaves. Another group have organised a canal convoy from the river Lea in East London. Cyclists are riding in from Luton the day before the demo to be welcomed at a Palestinian cafe in Hackney on Friday evening, and two hundred motor cyclists are riding to London to greet the demo on Saturday.

We have more demand for leaflets than for any of the previous demos, with tens of thousands streaming out of Stop the War office in Finsbury Park.

Let’s face it the demonstration needs to big. With the carnage continuing and the Trump/Blair neocolonial plan in the pipeline, the Palestinians need our support more than ever.

A massive demo is crucial too as a decisive response to government plans to further crackdown on protest rights.

We urge every one of our supporters to spend as much of the next five days as you can to spread the word. There’s videos to repost and graphics to shareLeaflets can be ordered from the office.

Talk to your workmates, your college mates, put posters or leaflets up in shop windows, make sure your trade union branch and local mosque is spreading the word. All to London this Saturday.

How you can help on the day

Join the StW team to help out on the day. We need volunteers  with clipboards to help us get as many sign-ups as possible. This is the only way we can reach a new layer of supporters. If you could give just 30 mins of your time, before the march starts or when we arrive at the rally, then please get in touch

We need people to give out placards and leaflets, help with the stall at the beginning of the march and hold our banner.

Please let us know how you can to help. You can do so by clicking the button below.
