The 11 October national demo in London will be massive – make sure you’re there for what looks set to be an historic Palestine protest. It will mark the 2nd anniversary of Israel’s genocide and comes at a time when Israel’s destruction of Gaza has reached an unimaginable scale with the latest death toll now about 68,000, and some reporting it may be as much as ten times higher.
The whole movement is urging people to come to come to London by all means necessary to help build the demo. So far we have heard there will be:
If you want to join in please email the office. Or organise something yourself, but do let us know so we can help publicise.
If everyone who has ever taken part in a Palestine protest over the last two years joins us it will be the largest Palestine protest ever. But we must also reach out beyond this core. If you’ve ever been on a Palestine march or if you’ve never been on one, it’s all to London for the 11th.
The Palestinian cause is now reaching a whole new level of society, as evidenced by last week’s Together for Palestine event at Wembley organised by StW President Brian Eno. Read Brian’s take on this changing mood, and let’s keep pushing to make the 11th the biggest march ever.
Please help us promote the demo with leaflets and posters, banner drops and local meetings. Get organising! Leaflets and posters available from the office.
Stop Suppressing Protest for Palestine
The police are still putting obstacles in the way of our marches and are refusing to allow us to march near synagogues, making it almost impossible for us to march to the Israeli embassy or the BBC on Saturdays. We are pushing hard against this and have put out a statement calling on the government to drop its attempts to suppress the movement for Palestinian rights. Please share widely.

Make sure you’re at the Palestine protest at Labour’s annual conference in Liverpool next Saturday, 27 September. Do what you can to join us. Starmer is weak and his MPs know Palestine is losing them support and crucial votes. Keep up the pressure.
If you’re planning to be in Liverpool and are able help with our stall, petitioning or handing out placards please get in touch.

Just a few days before the national protest on 11th October is the next workplace day of action on Thursday 9th. Do what you can and encourage your workmates to get involved. Use the day to reach out to friends and colleagues not previously involved in the Palestine movement and mobilise for the 11th.
Don’t forget to let us know your plans and make sure that you take pictures and videos for social media (#Workplaces4Palestine) on the day.
Trump Not Welcome

On Wednesday StW joined tens of thousands of protestors to tell the genocide supporting US president he was not welcome here. The world knows that if Trump was minded to end the genocide in Gaza he could do so immediately. Yet rather than broker peace, just hours after Trump was being given the red carpet treatment by Starmer, the US vetoed another UN Security Council resolution that demanded an ‘immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza’ and the lifting of all restrictions on aid. Shameful.
International Conference Against the War – Paris 4-5 October
In Europe antiwar campaigners will be responding to the surge in defence spending at an international peace conference in Paris on 4-5 October. StW, along with MPs, trade unionists and activists from across the continent, will be taking part. Join us at the activist meeting on 4 Oct, and the main conference on 5 Oct. Let us know if you are coming.
The conference is open to all and we urge as many activists and trade unionists as possible from Britain to make their way to Paris. We need to send a message to all the European governments: the people of Europe demand peace.
