Declassified, revealing for the first time the Israeli military personnel who have been trained in the UK

This afternoon I published my latest investigation with Declassified, revealing for the first time the Israeli military personnel who have been trained in the UK. Many of these Israeli soldiers have gone on to fight in the genocide in Gaza.

The article exposed how at least 32 Israeli officers have trained at the prestigious Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) in London. They include senior figures like Colonel Yaniv Asor, who was recently accused by the head of the Israeli air force of responsibility for mass civilian casualties in Gaza.

As many as four Israeli soldiers are still training in Britain despite a ban recently announced by the government, which won’t come into effect until next year. The UK government was only forced into agreeing to the ban on Israeli soldiers training in Britain because of a previous Declassified investigation, which revealed how Israeli soldiers have been training at the RCDS throughout the genocide.

Charlie Herbert, a retired British army general, commented: “That it has taken so long to bar IDF officers from the prestigious RCDS is a disgrace. Even now, it is not sufficient to ban them from 2026… Keir Starmer seems determined to drag the country into a level of complicity that will shame us for decades”.
