The UK government is planning to hand a multi-billion pound army training contract to either Elbit Systems or Raytheon. Both of these companies produce weapons and components used in Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
It is reprehensible that the government is planning to provide billions of pounds to companies enabling and profiting from genocide. Write to the Foreign Secretary and Defence Minister to demand the procurement process is immediately halted.
Write to the governmentElbit Systems UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of one of Israel’s largest arms companies, which supplies the Israeli military with a range of weaponry used to carry out its genocide in Gaza – including armoured drones, bombs and artillery shells. It provides 80% of the weapons and equipment for Israel’s land forces and 85% of the armoured drones used by the Israeli air force.
The other shortlisted consortium is led by Raytheon UK, part of the RTX Corporation, which supplies the Israeli military with missiles and engine parts for its fighter jets used to bomb Gaza.
Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing the most horrendous attacks right now – with Israel annihilating entire residential complexes every day in Gaza City. We must demand that not a penny of public money is sent to companies enabling these atrocities. Take action to demand the procurement process is immediately halted.
Write to the governmentRight now, Elbit Systems and RTX Corporation are exhibiting their weapons at the DSEI arms fair taking place in London, alongside dozens of other arms companies supplying Israel with its arsenal of weaponry used to commit genocide. These companies will advertise their equipment as “battle-tested” to sell it to other states for use in repression across the world.
It’s so important we protest against this heinous event that enables the UK-Israel arms trade.
Join us tomorrow (Wednesday 10 Sept) as we create a wall of noise as the arms dealers leave. Assemble at the Western Gateway to the Excel Centre. Follow our instructions on how to get to the protest at the link below.
In solidarity,
