From 7–10 September, trade unionists from across the country will gather in Brighton for the annual TUC Congress – and CND will be there too. Visit our stall to connect with us, and don’t miss our dynamic fringe meeting: Peace is Trade Union Business – Why We Need an Alternative Defence Strategy on Monday 8 September, 5.45–7.15pm at the West Bar, Brighton Centre.
We’re bringing together an inspiring panel of voices; Micaela Tracey-Ramos(Unison NEC), Alex Gordon (RMT), Sophie Bolt (CND General Secretary) and chaired by Professor Karen Bell (University of Glasgow) – to discuss how the trade union movement can lead the call for peace and a new approach to defence.

Kick out Trump’s nukes – Join the national demonstration at RAF Lakenheath, Saturday 20 September
US nuclear weapons have returned to Britain for the first time since 2008. Special nuclear flights have been tracked landing at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, confirming the deployment of the deadly new B61-12 bombs. This reckless escalation makes Britain a target in any nuclear war.
From nuclear brinkmanship with Russia to bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities – and now stationing US bombs here – Donald Trump is making the world more dangerous. With his state visit set for 17–19 September, we must send a loud and clear message: neither Trump nor his nukes are welcome in Britain.
Polling shows 61% of the public oppose US nuclear weapons in Britain. Join us to call on Keir Starmer to kick them out!

From Hiroshima to Today: Jeremy Corbyn & Caroline Lucas report back
Tuesday 2 September at 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Don’t miss tomorrow’s special CND webinar, where Vice-Presidents Caroline Lucas and Jeremy Corbyn will share their reflections from the 80th anniversary commemorations in Hiroshima, Japan. They will speak about hearing the powerful testimony of Hibakusha survivors, the global discussions on today’s escalating nuclear dangers, and the urgent steps we must take to de-escalate international tensions and strengthen international opposition to nuclear weapons.
This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from two leading voices who represented CND in Japan, stood alongside delegates from across the world, and witnessed first-hand the significance of this anniversary for the struggle for peace and disarmament.
