Urgent: don’t proscribe Palestine Action

Posted: 25th June 2025

Next week, the government plans to proscribe direct action group Palestine Action as terrorists, part of a wider crackdown on those protesting for Palestinian rights.

We urgently need everyone to sign and circulate this petition as widely as possible to show public opposition to this proscription.

The government’s proposal to ban Palestine Action would undermine civil liberties and risks creating a chilling effect on advocacy for Palestinian rights, as well as other campaigns for human rights, the climate and against war.

The Home Secretary has based her proscription on allegations of criminal damage against property. Spray painting warplanes is not terrorism. Palestine Action aims to prevent violence against people by interrupting the flow of weapons used in crimes against humanity against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

PSC believes in the need to build a truly mass movement rooted in all of our communities and use a wide range of tactics to bring about political change. While we have a different strategy to Palestine Action, we utterly reject this attempt to use counter-terrorism laws as a political weapon to criminalise dissent. A legal case is currently being prepared to block this proscription, but failing that, MPs are expected to vote on it next week.

We have launched this petition today because we urgently need evidence of public opposition to this planned proscription. We need you to sign and share the petition link as widely as possible with all of your contacts and on social media.

The overwhelming majority of people in Britain oppose Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people. Our Palestinian partners rely on us to maintain our focus on ending the genocide in Gaza and supporting their struggle for freedom. We cannot allow ourselves to be silenced or blown off course.

Sign and share the petition today and keep building the movement for Palestinian rights.

In solidarity,

Peter Leary
Deputy Director, PSC
