As Israeli missiles strike Iranian territory and Gaza lies in ruins after 20 months of relentless bombardment, it has become undeniable: we are on the edge of a much wider regional war. These are not isolated flashpoints — they are interconnected signs of a collapsing international order, fuelled by militarism, impunity, and Western double standards.

In this dangerous moment, the silence from much of the British political class is deafening. And that silence is not neutral. It allows the UK to continue supplying weapons to Israel, offering diplomatic cover for war crimes, and echoing the talking points of an increasingly fascist Israeli government. But as politicians fail to act, the responsibility to resist this path to war falls to us — to ordinary people, communities, and civil society.
