Rosatom, the Russian state nuclear company, has been on the ground in Ukraine since day one of the invasion. The company also has influence - and nuclear contracts - across the world, writes Charles Digges of Bellona.

Rosatom’s war tentacles

Rosatom is more than an energy company. It is actively engaged in developing technology for ballistic missiles, has occupied Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and is paving the way for a resumption of atomic weapons testing, finds a new report from Bellona. Civil society organizations that used to monitor and call out some of Rosatom’s more nefarious activities have been hounded out of existence, leaving Rosatom unfettered and unsanctioned. READ MORE
