This one is a report by Alan West, former Blair adviser. It does at least acknowledge that the move would mean withdrawing from the NPT, thus:
“Developing a Non-Strategic Nuclear Weapon (NSNW), whilst financially and technologically
more feasible (£7 billion over 10 years), also has significant obstacles – not least our obligations to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). To withdraw from the Treaty would, at the least, require close coordination with European partners.”
