Thousands fill London streets on 77th anniversary of catastrophe as the Co-op supermarket AGM votes to stop selling Israeli goods
S AN estimated 600,000 people marched to Downing Street to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Nakba on Saturday, a motion was passed at the Co-op group’s AGM for the supermarket giant to cease all trading with Israel by the end of the summer.
The historic victory for Palestine Solidarity Campaign’s (PSC) Don’t Buy Apartheid drive came as protesters from across the country attended the biggest national Gaza demonstration since November 2023.
PSC has been urging individuals, shops, restaurants and venues to boycott Israeli fresh produce and all Coca-Cola brands in protest over their links with Israel’s crimes against Palestinians. …

“What’s happening in Gaza is a humanitarian tragedy. A whole people is being subjected to crushing, disproportionate military force. International law is systematically violated,” he added. …

In an editorial – effectively the paper’s voice – the FT accused the United States and Europe of being increasingly “complicit” as Israel made Gaza “uninhabitable”, an allusion to genocide, and noted that the goal was to “drive Palestinians from their land”, an allusion to ethnic cleansing. …
