With nuclear threats rising it is little surprise that 62% of the British public now think that nuclear war is the event most likely to cause human extinction. So, we have a huge responsibility to help build a global anti-nuclear movement to ensure this never happens. This means reaching out to all thosewho recognise the dangers of nuclear weapons and want to be part of our campaign for a nuclear-free world.
So, I am confident we can count on your continued support at this critical time. Please donate to our spring appeal and help raise £18,000 towards the vital campaign activities we have planned for 2025.
The election of Donald Trump has made the world an even more dangerous place. Deadly US nuclear weapons could be deployed in Britain any day now. With Trump threatening countries across the world, global tensions are increasing even further. Trump’s nukes will put Britain on the front line – making us a target – but offering us no protection.
Meanwhile, the British government’s reckless plans to make welfare cuts whilstincreasing military spending, will not only make the population poorer, but will fail to keep us secure. Instead it is dragging us towards greater threats of war and the catastrophic use of nuclear weapons.
So, for another year, CND has its work cut out. Here is what we have planned:
We all know that the challenges we face are huge. But with your help, together, we can meet these global challenges and secure the peaceful, sustainable, nuclear-free future the world so desperately needs.
Please help us and make a donation of any size, if you can.
In peace,
Sophie Bolt
General Secretary
