FREE PALESTINE NATIONAL BDS DAY OF ACTION LEAFLET DROP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 5th APRIL 2025
Activists drop leaflets from top floor of Southampton’s prime shopping centre to highlight complicity of well-known brands and UK arms companies in the continuing oppression of Palestinians.
Southampton, United Kingdom - To coincide with the Don’t Buy Apartheid Day of Action, earlier today local Pro-Palestine campaigners staged a leaflet drop inside Southampton’s West Quay shopping centre to raise awareness about several brands sold at West Quay which support Israel and to highlight the complicity of UK arms companies in the continuing slaughter and subjugation of Palestinians. The leaflets highlighted brands sold at West Quay that shoppers should boycott in solidarity with Palestinians.
Israel’s illegal system of siege, occupation and apartheid in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem is propped up by companies such as Apple, Pizza Hut and McDonalds and is made possible by the continuing support of UK weapons companies such as Leonardo UK. And since Israel broke the recent ceasefire last months, over 1,100 Palestinians have been killed, including 15 rescue workers and paramedics who were then buried in mass graves along with their flattened ambulances. Some of the dead were then found with execution-style gunshot wounds to the head and chest and their hands or feet tied.
The campaigners invited WestQuay shoppers to boycott Mcdonald’s, Pizza Hut, Apple, Zara, L’Oreal, Dior, Chanel, Costa Coffee and Coca Cola and called for a complete ban of all UK arms exports to Israel.
