Take action for Palestine in April

Israel has resumed its full-scale genocidal assault against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. In the past few days alone, it has carpet bombed Gaza and assassinated journalist Hossam Shabat. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers brutally attacked Oscar-winning film director Hamdan Ballal in Masafer Yatta. Israel’s barbarity is made possible by the complicity of western governments including Britain, as well as corporations and institutions.

The easiest thing to do, as Israel plunges to new depths of brutality, would be to sink into despondency, but we know that is simply not an option. Instead, we must escalate our organising to target these pillars of British complicity. Will you get involved in our upcoming actions for Palestine?

Throughout Britain, we are building support for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS). Everywhere you look, our movement is gaining strength. On Monday, Oxford City Council became the tenth local authority to pass a motion calling for divestment and voted to begin to cut ties with Barclays Bank due to its complicity in Israel’s crimes. Last week, we launched the Don’t Buy Apartheid campaign, calling on individuals and businesses to boycott Israeli fresh produce and boycott Coca-Cola.  

Next Saturday 5 April is our first Don’t Buy Apartheid Day of Action. PSC branches are organising protests at supermarkets – make plans to join your nearest action.  

We will be back out on the streets on the 12 April and 26 April in villages, towns and cities across the country to demand an end to British complicity in Israel’s genocide. Join your local PSC branch and get involved in our BDS campaigns.

We must continue to increase the pressure. Wherever you live, take to the streets this April and demonstrate your ongoing support for freedom and justice for the Palestinian people. We will not stop until from the river to the sea, Palestine is free.
