Over the past few days, Israel’s carpet bombing across the Gaza Strip has killed nearly 500 Palestinians. We must act now. PSC has called an emergency protest for Saturday outside the Israeli Embassy in London – full details can be found at the bottom of this email.
We’re also writing to you today to ask you to take action to oppose Palantir, a US company producing technology that enables Israel’s genocide.
Palantir has been awarded a lucrative contract to develop and maintain a platform to store NHS patient data – known as the Federated Data Platform. It is now in the process of being rolled-out by NHS trusts in England.
Alongside health workers and patient groups, we’re calling for the contract and roll-out of the platform to be stopped. Will you write to the Health Secretary today?
Write to the Health SecretaryIn early 2024, Palantir entered a “strategic partnership” with Israel’s Ministry of Defence to develop technology and tools to be used in “war-related missions.” This technology has been used to accelerate Israel’s genocide in Gaza, by using AI technology for Israel’s bombing campaigns which are causing such utter devastation.
Palantir also provides technology used as part of Israel’s surveillance apparatus in the West Bank, where Palestinians face constant intrusive surveillance leading to restrictions on their movement and arbitrary arrest and detention.
Palantir’s technology has been used in state violence around the world – from racist policing and immigration detention in the US, to Israel’s genocide, military occupation and apartheid in Palestine. It’s clearly an unsuitable partner for our health service – which is why health workers and patient groups have been speaking out against the contract.
Add to their voices by writing to the Health Secretary to demand the contract is revoked, and the roll-out is stopped.
Write to the Health SecretaryIn solidarity,
Lewis
