Like the Pied Piper, the IAEA is leading the world’s nuclear power enthusiasts into the river. We protested the fairy tales at their Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels. And the “special relationship” between the UK and the US isn’t a boon at all and could instead spell nuclear doom, writes CND’s Kate Hudson.

Once upon a time…

More than 40 organizations including Beyond Nuclear protested the IAEA’s March 21 Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels, that concluded with yet another pledge to expand nuclear power. It was a joke, so we had some fun deriding the ludicrous nuclear fairy tales being spun by the deluded inside the summit. We have more chance of casting magic spells with our plastic wands than nuclear power does of tripling globally by 2050 (in any case too late.) READ MORE

US-UK nuclear weapons deal set to renew. It shouldn’t.

The “special relationship” between the US and the UK extends beyond the UK being dragged into futile US foreign wars. The Mutual Defence Agreement is also responsible for the development of the UK’s nuclear arsenal and its continued possession of these weapons of mass destruction, writes CND general secretary, Kate Hudson.
