Starmer’s government approved licences for at least £127.6 million worth of military equipment to Israel between October and December 2024. <strong>In just three months, this was more than the Conservative government approved over the three years from 2020 to 2023</strong>.</p><p>When Israel’s lethal F-35 jets needed components, they were delivered from British bases, <strong>including through at least two shipments shortly after Starmer became prime minister</strong>. </p><p>Military support was accompanied by diplomatic embrace. The architects of genocide should have been made global pariahs, but instead, <strong>Keir Starmer welcomed Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Downing Street</strong> </del> even after Herzog’s incendiary statements had been cited as evidence against Israel in the genocide case before the International Court of Justice. </p><a href=)

Punishment, it seemed, was reserved for those who objected to genocide, not those perpetrating it. In a draconian crackdown on civil liberties, Starmer’s government proscribed Palestine Action, making it the first direct action group to be banned using counter terror laws.
Since then, there has been a 1,434% increase in terrorism-related arrests, including countless elderly and disabled people arrested for holding up placards supporting Palestine Action and opposing genocide.
When Donald Trump returned to the presidency, he embarked on a series of unlawful military interventions and acts of aggression with Starmer’s compliance. RAF jets joined US strikes on Yemen in 2025, while Starmer allowed British bases to be used by US bombers as they pummeled Iran earlier this year.
After Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was illegally kidnapped by US forces in January, Starmer’s statement was characteristically supine: “We regarded Maduro as an illegitimate president and we shed no tears about the end of his regime”, it read.
History will not look fondly upon the name Keir Starmer.
