About Peter Oborne

Peter Oborne is one of Britain’s most distinguished journalists, authors and broadcasters, with a career spanning four decades.

A former chief political commentator of The Daily Telegraph, he now writes for publications including Declassified UK, openDemocracy and Middle East Eye. He has become a prominent independent voice on press freedom, government accountability and the erosion of public trust in institutions.

Twice named Columnist of the Year at the British Press Awards, in 2012 and 2016, Peter is also the author of several influential books, including The Rise of Political Lying, The Triumph of the Political Class and The Assault on Truth.

His latest book, Complicit: Britain’s Role in the Destruction of Gaza, published in 2025, examines Britain’s involvement in the devastation of Gaza and raises urgent questions about political responsibility and accountability.

Peter will share what he has witnessed during his visit, reflect on the realities on the ground and offer his perspective on the wider political and humanitarian situation.

There will also be an opportunity for questions from the audience.

We appreciate that this invitation comes at short notice, but we hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an illuminating and thought-provoking discussion.

With best wishes,

Britain Palestine Project
