EMERGENCY BRIEFING: Justice for Venezuela

With critical time for rescue efforts running out and the hope of finding many more survivors fading, it is clear that the British response to these earthquakes has been inadequate, with only £2 million pledged in humanitarian aid.

With an estimated $2 billion in frozen assets held by the UK government, it is clear that far more could have and should have been done. That is why we are calling on the government to release the frozen assets immediately. This, along with other matters concerning Venezuela at this time, will be discussed at tomorrow night’s meeting.
