Webinar Today: From Nuclear Sharing to a European Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone (5 March)

Dear friends,

Today, 5 March, we invite you to join an important international online webinar:

From Nuclear Sharing (Belarus & NATO) to a European Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone

Time:
11:00–12:30 Eastern Time
17:00–18:30 Central European Time

This event commemorates the anniversary of the 1954 Bravo nuclear test and reflects on the 2022 decision by Belarus to remove its nuclear-weapon-free status. The discussion will also revive proposals for a European Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone based on mutual security, shared commitments and legally binding guarantees.

The webinar will also present recent developments at the UN Human Rights Council, where the United Nations affirmed that states have obligations under international human rights law to refrain from any threat or use of nuclear weapons and to work toward their elimination.
