“Encounters in Israel and Palestine: Hope and Despair.”

Event Date: 7th March 2026
Location: The John Pearson Hall, St John’s Church, West Street, New Alresford, Hampshire, SO24 9AG.

I’m writing to invite you to a timely and important event on Saturday 7 March, 10am–12pm, at The John Pearson Hall, St John’s Church, West Street, New Alresford, Hampshire, SO24 9AG.

Miranda Pinch, BPP Advisory Forum member and producer of From Balfour to Banksy, will be speaking about her recent visit to Israel and Palestine (21 January – 4 February 2026) in a talk titled “Encounters in Israel and Palestine: Hope and Despair.” The morning will include a Q&A session.

Miranda will reflect on what she saw in the West Bank and Gaza in the context of serious allegations – including apartheid, ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, and accusations of genocide in Gaza. She also highlights a reality that is often overlooked: many of those she met were Palestinian Christians, now less than 1% of the population and shrinking rapidly. Their fear that Christian presence in the Holy Land is being steadily stifled, alongside that of their Muslim neighbours, deserves wider attention.

Miranda has also written about her visit in an article for Liberal Democrat Friends of Palestine titled:
“My life’s defeat would be emigration”: Encounters in Palestine during my recent visit in January 2026.

Miranda is available in person or online to give talks to your community groups to give her first-hand testimony, answer questions, and reflect on what meaningful UK action should look like before it is too late.

With best wishes,

Dr Brian Brivati
Executive Director, Britain Palestine Project
