Dear Peter Gloyns,

Last week, President Trump announced the resumption of nuclear testing, i.e. the detonation of nuclear weapons to help design and develop new generations of these weapons of mass destruction.
  • What does this mean?
  • How have people and the environment been impacted by nuclear weapons testing in the past?
  • Are women and children impacted in different ways and more seriously?
  • What initiatives are being advanced to engage human rights, gender and environmental communities in this issue, in addition to the traditional peace and disarmament communities?
You are cordially invite to attend – online or in-person – the upcoming event Narratives on Nuclear Disarmament at the Intersection of Gender Equality and Protection of the Environment, which will address these questions and explore current developments and innovative initiatives, connecting nuclear disarmament with human rights, gender and environmental issues.
