TASC, along with Stop Sizewell C, are joining other Suffolk Campaign Groups across this part of Suffolk to protest against the cumulative impact of multiple Nationally Significant energy projects and demand relief for this threatened area as the Sea Link Examination opens at Snape Maltings.
What: A highly visual protest by a coalition of energy-related campaign groups and their supporters, to draw attention to the cumulative impact of multiple energy projects in East Suffolk. 200-300 people are expected to attend. We ask you to wear black and carry black umbrellas.
When: Wednesday 5 November, 12 noon – 1 pm. Please arrive by 11.45 if possible.
5 November is the start of National Grid’s Sea Link Interconnector Planning Examination (Open Floor Hearings at 2 pm, Snape Concert Hall). Sea Link is the first project of National Grid’s controversial “Great Grid Upgrade” to be examined.
Where: Snape Maltings (IP17 1SP). Protestors will gather at the Hepworth Statue behind the Concert Hall (what3words hints.incur.instructs) and process over the footbridge to the Henry Moore Lawn (what3words flop.sunroof.rich) by the river. Snape Maltings stewards will direct you to the car park.
Why: This area is under extreme pressure with Sizewell C and Scottish Power working on their respective projects with devastating consequences for people, landscape and wildlife. We will be protesting against the relentless infrastructure burden facing our coast and countryside. We will be calling for Sea Link to be paused for proper recognition of its need and of the cumulative impact on other projects. We urge government Ministers to create a strategic coordination mechanism to collectively assess energy projects and develop plans to allow delivery without damaging cumulative impacts, including the creation of an offshore energy hub for windfarms.
Who: The protest is jointly planned by Suffolk Energy Action Solutions (SEAS), Saxmundham Against Needless Destruction (SAND), Stop Sizewell C, Together Against Sizewell C (TASC) and Walberswick Against Lionlink (WALL)
“This is our moment to stand together. We encourage everyone concerned about the onslaught of these major energy projects – individually and collectively – to join us for an hour of peaceful protest and say:
Enough is Enough
Posters will be handed out on the day, but we also encourage you to make/design your own.
There are suggestions on Stop Sizewell C’s website; you are welcome to print or use them as inspiration.

If you can post a flyer on social media or in a shop window, you can find one here https://stopsizewellc.org/core/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/CUMULATIVE-IMPACT-RALLY-FLYER-2a5-on-a4.pdf
Please, we ask, do not bring placards, posters or banners specific to individual campaigns. This is a united demonstration, representing the shared burden of multiple infrastructure projects across our much-loved region.
If you live in the area, a brochure from Essex & Suffolk may have dropped through your letterbox today or very soon. Please don’t bin it. A consultation is running from 29th October to 10th December. Essex & Suffolk have an onlineconsultation involving new pipelines, reservoirs and water recycling.
A dedicated pipeline will be laid for Sizewell C. All the infrastructure will mean more disruption for the area, as you can see from the image below. These are early proposals, and a DCO will be needed.
The local consultation dates can be found on their website or at the back of the brochure, please attend if you can.
Don’t forget TASC have a court case coming up on Tuesday, December 9th, time to be confirmed. You can read about SZC’s secret sea defences here.
