"Vigil for Palestine" at Abingdon War Memorial

Dear friends of APG, 

Next Thursday, 2nd October, 6-7pm is the next “Vigil for Palestine” at Abingdon War Memorial at the junction of High Street and Bath Street (confusingly called “The Square”). This is a vigil called by a group of concerned citizens to “shine a light on the tragic loss of life and immense suffering of the Palestinian people”. Previous vigils have been peaceful, with banners and flags, hearfelt speeches, and candles. The children have drawn on flags and on the pavement, and the event has ended with a little pot-banging. It’s important to show the evening traffic that there are people in Abingdon who care! Do join us.
