No new war or sanctions on Iran – online meeting 16 Sept
Following the recent decision by Britain, France and Germany to impose snapback sanctions on Iran, the drive to a new war has greatly accelerated.
Stop the War is hosting an online meeting to discuss this increasingly dangerous situation with Trita Parsi, Iranian-American author and Executive VP of the Quincy Institute, in conversation with Stop the War Officer Stephen Bell.
The conversation will consider whether the US has settled on resuming war with Iran and if Britain, France and Germany are acting as US proxies. The options facing Iran will be examined along with how the anti-war movement should respond.
As Carol Turner’s (convenor of CND’s International Advisory Group and StW Officer) recent article points out, Israel is explicitly seeking regime change, quietly supported by the United States. ‘The mendacity of Israel, the US, and the E3 is clear from recent events, and by and large, the abject failure of western media to report the full story surrounding Iran nuclear negotiations.’ Take a look at Carol’s article for a helpful overview of recent events.
