Paris anti-war conference – October 4-5

Activists from across Europe are preparing an international peace conference in Paris on the 4th and 5th of September. It is a response to the spread of militarism across the continent after the Trump administration demanded hikes in military spending earlier in the year and to the growing threat of the spread of war in Europe and beyond.

The conference comes after hundreds of activists across the continent signed a call to halt the militarisation of Europe and to use the resources to rebuild crumbling infrastructure and reverse the welfare cuts that every citizen faces.

Stop the War is participating in the organising of the event and urging members and supporters to come to Paris to join the launch of this crucial movement.

The Paris conference already has nearly 2,000 registered to attend. The event will be a huge gathering of Palestine solidarity. The aim is to re-start a co-ordinated Europe wide movement against austerity and war. The main conference is on 5 October with an activist conference the day before, on 4 October.

A follow-up conference is already being planned for London in 2026.
